Using Version 2.6.1. Have just upgraded to current version of Mobirise but having problem with inserting html . Have tried overwriting code in standard menu bar using code editor and whilst inserted code appears in Mobirise editor it does not appear when published locally ir online. This page has had code inserted at top but not showing.
Also seems to be an issue in adding code editor block, cannot put block at top of page and if you insert above one of the headers will not show toolbar to access it.
Thanks for assistance. If it helps I’ve replaced code in standard header menu with these: html and css below
You should update your 'Code Editor' extension. To do this open 'Extensions' panel and click on the 'Update' button.
Many thanks, that did the trick.
Is there a recommended way to add something as an "include" in the editor.
Tried a few combinations but not very successful.
What you want to add in the code editor?
You should have some coding skills to work well with this extension.
I'd like to replace the menu over multiple pages for one that includes
dropdowns.
I'm ok with using standard SSI
I'm ok with coding a menu but don't want to have to add it to every page
when it changes.
I can force the created .html pages to run as .shtml with an .htaccess file:
AddHandler server-parsed .html
AddHandler server-parsed .shtml
AddHandler server-parsed .htm
That works fine on server, tested and in use on normal .html pages.
If I use the usual SSI include in Code Editor:
<!--#include virtual="menu.htm" -->
Where menu.htm is the manually saved file the code editor accepts it, then
publish to server but include file not added to mobirise created page when
viewing page source.
Hope that makes sense.
Alternatively ... rather than replace entire mobirise header menu code with
my own menu code, can I insert html which will populate over all instances
as it does when you use the inbuilt navigation. If so, which bit of
existing code should I leave in place.
The menu block is common for all the pages in your project. You can use custom HTML block to add code to your page, but then you should copy and paste the code in this block on every page you need.
I’ve been using Mobirise for a few months and currently on the latest Windows version.
It’s very good at building small sites with a few pages particularly if there are a lot of images to display. For example this site was built in just a few hours.
However, I’ve a few suggestions that would make a massive improvement.
Bootstrap drop down menus – these have been available for a long time and would make it much easier to have multiple pages accessed from drop down menus.
FTP Upload – every upload wants to upload every single file every time. You need incremental upload for just files that have changed. As Mobirise exports and dates everything each time it’s not even possible to use external ftp.
Images – using the same image on another pages adds another image to the upload files and you can end up with many copies of the same image on server. This needs correcting, even browsing to already saved image and adding to another page causes this. An image only needs one file name and can be used many times.
Fonts – open it up to a better selection of Google fonts rather than the limited choice currently available.
Site Import – allow the import of non bootstrap templates to allow conversion to bootstrap.
Hope these are something you can consider.
I'll send your suggestion to our developers.
Thank you for your ideas for improvement of Mobirise app.
