Pathways to Teaching

PATHWAYS TO TEACHING CAREERS PROGRAM
in Savannah is part of a national initiative funded by the DeWitt Wallace-Reader's Digest Fund, to recruit and train teachers, especially minorities, for urban school systems. Coordinated by the Southern Education Foundation, the program seeks to increased the number of certified teachers working in public schools in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Tennessee, and Virginia by helping non-certified teachers and para-professionals return to school and earn their teaching certificates. In return, the teachers agree to work in public schools for a minimum of three years following program completion.
