AFFORDABLE

To assist students and their families in meeting the financial demands of a college education, Savannah State awards merit-based scholarships and grants annually.

Candidates with a high school grade point average of 3.0, a minimum ACT composite score of 21 or a minimum SAT composite score of 1000, and rank in the top 25% of their class are considered for academic scholarships. Scholarship competition may also include a writing sample, group discussing and an individual interview on campus.


Satisfactory Academic Progress Policy
(SAP Policy)

To be eligible to receive Student Financial Aid (SFA) funds, students must be maintaining satisfactory progress.  Savannah State University is required by the U.S. Department of Education to establish minimum standards of satisfactory a academic progress.  Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) means the student is progressing in a positive manner toward fulfilling degree requirements.  The Satisfactory academic Progress policy includes two major components: quality and quantity (time frame).
