Rida Suleri-Johnson

Now based in East Sussex, after a move from Birmingham, Rida is proud new mama to her beautiful daughter Zora. They love to play games and roll around laughing in the mornings whilst nibbling on sourdough toast with avocado and halloumi. With a passion for great food and a lovely hot cup of tea, Rida loves to discover new places near and far. She proudly helped with one of the first Whalefest events a few years ago in Brighton; this helps to raise awareness for the protection and liberation of dolphins and whales.Rida’s passion for beautiful picture books began when she was training to be a primary school teacher – luckily she has Zora to share her collection of books with now!

She suffers from itchy feet and is always full of wanderlust so has to escape for adventures often! Rida was so very lucky to enjoy a three month honeymoon travelling around the world! Her heart filled up with gladness at the beauty of the people she met and astounding places she saw.

A few questions about nice things...

Who do you most admire?

Not to be cheesy but it has to be my own mama! She has a fierce and gentle heart, creative hands that can do anything she puts her mind to and great taste in clothes. Other than that it would be the amazing community and creative talent over on Instagram. There are so many wonderful women on there and they never cease to amaze me with their talent and kindness!

What are your favourite possessions?

I absolutely love my brown leather boots from a boutique in Angers, they go perfectly with jeans, dresses and my mama uniform of leggings. I love taking pictures and have so many from my travels and of course, of my gorgeous munchkin Zora. Old family photos are treasures too. Ooh! I guess my camera would make the list too!

Tell us about your perfect day or weekend...

Perfect weekend would start with a hot cup of tea, slice of toasted sourdough and scrambled eggs. We would then pack up a few nibbles, my camera and head off somewhere to explore; I love trees so a walk amongst them would make me feel at peace. We would then stop somewhere for a spot of lunch and cake! Cake always makes for a good day! We would nose around small independent shops, especially for handcrafted or vintage pieces. Mugs are a bit of an obsession at the moment! So I’m always on the hunt for a nice big and slightly wonky one.

What makes you happiest?

Hmm so many things! Number one is Zora of course! But flowers, cooking, reading, walking amongst nature, blue skies, a dance around the living room to some favourite songs, time with family and friends!

What would you like to do in the future?

I would like to start a blog but it’s quite a daunting prospect, would anyone want to read it? What would I write about? I always like to learn new skills so brushing up on Italian or doing a styling course would be great. Travel more, always travel more!
