A laidback evening with friends at Viva, Dalston

I was happy to see Viva open a few months ago and love to visit with a group of friends for a loud, fun evening. A mish-mash of vintage furniture and kitsch bric-a-brac sets the laidback scene while the excellent food and cocktails are the stars of the show. Dishes are fresh, tasty and great value so it’s best to order plenty, stick it in the middle of the table and all dig in to what you fancy. Don’t leave the quesadillas out in the cold though, they are the standout choice on the menu.

I love watching Dalston pass by through the large windows while enjoying a boozy cocktail before heading on down Kingsland Road to one of the many bars. Viva is always bustling so book and enjoy the friendly, informal atmosphere before a night out.
