Handpicked vintage for home and garden at A Vintage Garden in Lower Froyle

Head to the beautiful village of Lower Froyle and look out for the most stunning thatched cottage and quintessential country garden imaginable. Here you’ll find A Vintage Garden, where owner Jane Clift sells a fantastic selection of treasures old and new from her lovely purpose-built timber garden room.

Visiting the garden is an experience in itself. Beautifully laid out, with borders full of scented, colourful blooms and a veg patch to die for, you’ll be inspired to create your own country-style idyll. Thankfully green-fingered Jane is on hand to dispense tips, and in the garden room you’ll find all the charming and unusual props you need – quirky trugs and baskets, irresistible enamelware and lovely pieces of old wooden furniture that each tell their own story.

You’ll also find unexpected gems. Recent favourites of mine include such curiosities as an antiquated meat safe, a traditional writing slope (so Jane Austen) and beautiful hand forged iron plant supports decorated with birds and butterflies. Jane clearly has an expert eye for design and detail, which guarantees you’ll always come away with the perfect present or finishing touch for your home.
