Running around and humming along at Peppa Pig World, Paultons Park near Romsey
There are so many wonderful places on my doorstep in Winchester; natural beauty spots such as the water meadows, beautiful architecture like the cathedral and Winchester College. But I think the place which gives me most pleasure, is the place which gives my kids most pleasure. And this has to be Peppa Pig World at Paultons Park! I am such a lover of all things natural, local and unspoilt – but the sheer joy on the faces of my children when they get to ride on Daddy Pig’s car, or George’s Dinosaur ride is hard to top.
I love it because it looks just like the cartoon – it’s been beautifully realised. The background music has you humming along as you walk around, everything is still new and clean and, above all, it’s fun! The facilities are great, the staff always friendly and welcoming and there is plenty of space for the kids (and me) to run around in.
Let’s be realistic here – it can get very very busy, especially in Summer, or during holidays. Queuing is no fun at all, so my advice would be to avoid the busy periods, or arrive late when everyone is leaving. Buy a season ticket, as, if you’re like us, you’ll make up the difference in visits very quickly. Also try and keep smaller children in a pushchair if they’re nearly (or just) a metre tall, as kids don’t pay until they’re this height. If Peppa Pig World is very busy, go into the main park and you’ll find many of the rides and walks are much quieter.
TiYK Top Tip! Paultons Park re-opens for half term on 12th February 2012. Buy your tickets online, print at home and avoid the queus.
