Summer evening beers at London Fields Brewery
London Fields Brewery sprung up in August 2011 in the railway arches next to London Fields, a short stroll along from Broadway Market on Helmsley Place. Open from midday to midnight every Saturday and Sunday throughout summer, its excellent craft beer, delicious food and great live music are well worth seeking out.
The vibe is summer street party with several bottled beers or draught at far cheaper prices then the pubs on Broadway Market. From the conventionally titled pale ale to a bottle of Hackney Hopster, the staff encourage tasters and offer recommendations to suit all pallets. And, if beer really isn’t your thing, they also serve spirits, soft drinks and the perfect accompaniment to a summer’s day, Pimms.
The food provided by The Dead Dolls Club is an equal match. We enjoyed pulled pork and spinach and feta pie served with celeriac slaw. For desert there was much ‘tomscoopery’ on offer with gelato from three different suppliers. I recommend being bold with your choices – the sour cherry and sheep’s ricotta might not sound as inviting as chocolate but was downright delicious.
