To where the forest meets the sea at Lepe Country Park in the New Forest

Sometimes I can’t help but hear the coastline calling. And when it does, even if it’s not flip flop weather, a trip to Lepe Country Park is always lovely and refreshing on a clear, sunny day.

Offering up beaches, pine fringed cliffs and wild flower meadows, it’s the perfect place to explore, especially if you have kids in tow. Fly kites from the cliff-tops, scour the shoreline or go pond-dipping. Or for more serious adventures check out the special activities held throughout the year.

After all your fresh-air fun you’ll surely need to reward yourselves with a piece of cake from the lovely beach-side café. Or if you’re super organised, why not book out one of the park’s two bbq sites? Open from April until October, you can hire the grills and cook up the perfect spring/summer party – catering for up to 60 people!
