Indulging in Cornish crab and lobster at Fresh from the Sea cafe and shop in Port Isaac

One of my favourite places is a tiny café-shop in Port Isaac called Fresh from the Sea. They specialise in lobster and crab caught daily by the owner Calum, and serve the best crab sandwiches ever! You will find the shop at the top of the village between the Pea Pod Gallery and the red and white ice cream shop, overlooking Port Isaac’s quaint winding lanes which lead down to the harbour.

Calum has his own single-handed slow boat called ‘Mary D’ which he takes out to catch the crab and lobster, so it’s all ethically and sustainably fished. He always draws a crowd as he brings his daily haul up the hill – everyone wants to take a peek at his catch. The crab and lobster is all cooked and hand picked on the premises and you can buy it whole, dressed, in a sandwich or salad, boxed to take home or even alive!
