A cosy coffee nook complete with antiquarian books at The Dancing Goat in Fakenham

The Dancing Goat in Fakenham is a modest coffee shop offering an intimate setting in this rural town. With a warm and welcoming atmosphere and an array of lovely homemade cakes, it always proves a wonderful place to sit and mull over a book on a cold winter’s afternoon.

Although its menu isn’t hugely extensive, the soup of the day, a toasted sandwich or jacket potato are reliably delicious. However, its most endearing feature is the antiquarian bookshop. Venture into the back room, or even into the cellar, and you’re met with hundreds of second hand books – some really old, some foreign, some practically new – to browse whilst enjoying your coffee refill! A delightful place to go after a busy day at the market.
