Long lazy lunches at The Marlborough Tavern in Bath
There’s a lovely pub called The Marlborough Tavern in Bath, just a short walk from the Circus but far enough away from the crowds. Cosy and warm with lots of chunky candles and an eclectic mix of wooden chairs, it’s the perfect spot for a coffee or a long lunch at the weekend.
The managers are super friendly and will always do their best to fit you in, though booking is definitely recommended in the evening! The food is great and the best bit is that the menu is ever changing. You rarely fancy the same thing twice because it has gone from the menu only to be replaced with something even yummier.
I particularly love the fascinating walls – a mix of local artwork and beautiful wallpapers. And let’s not forget the fabulous pub garden. This place really comes into its own in the summer. I love taking a couple of hours to do the city skyline walk (download the map from the National Trust website) and finishing up in the Tavern’s garden with a refreshing drink and delicious lunch.
